Technical demonstrations (details to be defined):

1 HOMESNET Home Base Station: An Emerging Network Paradigm
Shown at the exhibition:
The femto-cell technology provides a mean to enhance indoor coverage, throughputs and quality of service. Furthermore, the important portion of indoor traffic allows femtocells to alleviate macro-cell load. Self-organizing network (SON) mechanisms have been introduced in standards and vendor roadmaps to allow self-management of femtocells. This demo illustrates a heterogeneous network with macro and open access femtocells empowered by an offloading SON functionality. When the SON offloading is enabled, the femto-cells adapt their coverage area and offload macro-cell traffic by self-optimizing their pilot power. The SON mechanism is fully distributed and robust in terms of convergence and stability. The offloading process is showcased on a LTE network simulator and the performance gain achieved is visualized on monitored KPIs.
2 ENGINES Enabling Next GeneratIon NEtworks for broadcast Services
DVB-T2 & DVB-T2 Lite demonstrations etc.
3 HIPERMED HIgh PERformance TeleMEDicine platform
Shown at the exhibition:
- Speech training (patient-to-professional scenario). Possible demos include: audio-visual communication via web-based SIP clients between two parties simulating the remote speech therapy session; remote self-training session where the patient performs the speech practices assigned by the therapist.
- Care/rehabilitation home extension (patient-to-professional scenario). Possible demos include point-to-point HD videoconferencing, sensors, xDSL PLC/WiFi and/or PLC+ONT residential gateways and secure access to a patient record system from the home environment.
- Remote consultation between doctors (professional-to-professional scenario). Possible demos include point-to-point HD/3D videoconferencing with additional functionalities (sharing DICOM images and/or exporting medical reports, HD/3D stream with medical image sent to consulting doctor…).
4 GENIO Next Generation Home
Shown at the exhibition:
Demonstrator of the intelligent system and the virtual agent managing home automation devices and video streams showing the following functionalities:
- Advanced self-management of the home network.
- Heterogeneity of the devices and their interactions
- Ubiquitous access to home contents
- Personalization.
5 MEVICO Mobile Networks Evolution for Individual Communications Experience
Technologies and solutions for the evolution of the LTE mobile core networks with 2 live demos and 1 video:
1) Video demonstration showing NMIP Handover performance between 3GPP and Wifi accesses.
2) Live demo on self organizing mobile backhaul access network utilizing high bandwidth point-to-point wireless connections in a mesh topology is presented. Flexible use of available transport capacity is demonstrated to recover dynamic traffic fluctuations in the given network topology.
3) Live demo on a testbed on Routing Optimization for Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIP-RO). The technology proposed enhances the routing procedure of PMIP by allowing selection of local anchoring point within and/or outside the EPC. The purpose is to show the evolution of traffic performances when optimized and the impact of offloaded traffic in the 3GPP EPC. Background traffic will be generated and the performances of all background traffic and optimized traffic will be monitored
6/7 IPNQSIS IP Network Monitoring for Quality of Service Intelligent Support
Shown at the exhibition:
-Service optimization (demo). Swedish consortium initiative to show the video tools for service optimization in a network. Network conditions will be altered using a network emulator to see how the system adapts to the new situation. In addition an external monitoring tool will be employed to show the suitability of the demo.
-Multimedia Quality models (demo). Joint Finnish (VTT) and Swedish (Alkit) initiative in which audio quality model will be embedded into commercial tool to give a general perspective of the multimedia QoE (voice and video).
-IPTV QoE (demo). French consortium (IT, Vierling) initiative showing network monitoring of video flows to determine QoS KPIs and estimate QoE level. Flows with different quality will be analysed so that one can see if the mapping between estimated levels and perceived quality is good. A prototype monitoring tool called MMT will be used.
-Customer Experience Lab (demo). Demo of UPEC’s frameworks for the subjective quality assessment of video flows (through a plugin embedded in a Web browser).
8  SERVERY Advanced Service Architecture and Service Delivery Environment
Poster presentations:
- The Personal Service Environment PSE
- The semantic publication / Discovery of SERVERY services Telco assets and enablers

FT-PSC Federated Testbed for Public Safety Communications
Poster presentation

9 4GBB 4th Generation Broadband Systems
Shown at the exhibition:
Proof-of-concept for an ultimate DSL technology. A hardware demo of the high frequency DSL possibilities intended in a hybrid system together with fiber
10 R2D2Networks Road to media-aware user-Dependant self-adaptive Networks
Shown at the exhibition:
The first prototype of the NRM, the central architectural element of R2D2 will be shown.
The main goal of the demonstration is to show how the NRM can receive feedback from a user concerning the QoE, check the status of the different Network Elements and apply corrective actions to improve the QoE.
Since the actual testbed of R2D2 cannot be removed from the premises is set up (too heavy in terms of equipment), the system will be simulated with a couple of PCs, which will contain a video source, the NRM, a client player, and several emulators for the network elements.
11 EO-Net Elastic Optical Network
We will showcase some of the early results of the EO-Net project regarding flexible optical transmission systems and their benefits for the cost and energy efficiency of optical networks. This will be based on posters and software demonstration.
12 KUSANAGI Networked 3D Multimedia Gaming Platform
Kusanagi aims at optimizing rendering, compression, streaming, and display technologies in order to provide efficient remote rendering solutions for 2D & 3D content. The applications addressed in the project are 3D gaming and 2D ultra high definition professional visualisation. To achieve its ambitious vision, the Kusanagi project is driven by a strong consortium combining universities, research institutions, large telecom and industrial companies, SMEs and startups.”
13 MOTSWAN Mobile TV Services Whatever Access Network
1) Enhanced Services
Demonstration on combining auxiliary services to Live TV : Provisioning to multiple mobile platforms, Metadata Management, Context (location, preferences) sensitivity & personalization
2) Service continuity
TV services are delivered simultaneously through different DVB broadcast signals and HTTP streaming from an Over The Top server and a home box, provided with an homogeneous set of ESG/EPG and synchronized meta data. On client side, a same TV content session can switch between the different available accesses through a multi standard receiver and ESG. A unified content protection scheme is provided for broadcast and streaming, together with an audience measurement solution.
